The smartphone device won’t get Ice Cream Sandwich update, even the device isn’t scheduled to get Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, but say thanks to XDA contributor Alex C, who posted the thread on the behalf of XDA developer member adlx.xda. HTC ChaCha users now are able to enjoy Ice Cream Sandwich on their HTC smartphone. However it’s unofficial alpha build of CyanogenMod 9 and rough, the ROM has many bugs, see the list below:
Camera is not working (front/back)
Volume panel switching causes a crash in Trebuchet

Wi-Fi Scan button does nothing
Performance issues. Phone seems sluggish
Movie Studio is not working
GPS might not work -> POSTPONED: Issue appears as fixed. Tested with Sygic, fix in 10 seconds.
Gallery crashes when started
Network drops when proximity sensors are activated
Wifi cannot lock on hidden hotspots
Physical keyboard and soft menu keys backlight doesn’t work unless you have specific brightness settings
