Install Windows 8′s Metro UI Theme on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Microsoft latest operating system Windows 8 features stunning Metro UI theme, now you can also install it on your Samsung Galaxy Tab, thanks to XDA developer BroBot175. Windows 8 metro UI theme works on many custom ROMs that based on Android 3.0 Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich. However the theme is still in beta that means it may has some bugs, but stale for daily use. If you’re interested follow below guide to install, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged. ADW.Launcher should be install on tablet.
DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.
Instructions
Step #1: First download theme for your ROM and Android version:
Step #2: Download Metro UI Tiles B4 package.
Step #3: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #3: Transfer the theme package to internal SD card of device.
Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down the Volume Up and Power buttons as soon as you see the Samsung logo.
Step #7: Now Select Install zip from sdcard then Choose zip from sdcard. Locate theme package ZIP file, after that confirm installation to start installation.
Step #8: Once flashing done, reboot the tablet.
Step #9: Make folder with the name MetroUI and unzip Metro UI Tiles B4 package inside the folder.
Step #10: Transfer unzipped files adw_ex_settings.xml to the /sdcard directory of device after that transfer adw_ex_settings.xml to the root of your tablet’s SD card for examples bring it out of the MetroUI folder.
Step #11: Launch ADW Launcher’s setting screen.
Step #12: Now tap on Restore and select Restore Settings.
Step #13: Now launch desktop Visualiser app.
Step #15: Tap on Menu key and select setting, after that set the following preferences such as Touch Effect, Default Vibration, Text Color, Background Color, and Widget Usage.
Step #16: Open homescreen and long-tap on a blank area of the screen.
Step #17: Now select Widgets and scroll down to Desktop Visualiser 4×4. Then tap OK.
Step #18: At this point tap on the empty widget the tap Select Icon > Image file and select your desired file manager from the list to open your file manager app.
Step #19: Open MetroUI folder from SD card, open the Catagory Names folder and select start.png or another image from inside that folder.
Step #20: Select “Select action”
Step #21: Select “None.”
Step #22: At this point, you can see the category but resize later.
Step #23: Long-tap on image.
Step #24: Select Edit.
Step #25: Now resize category name into a 2×3 size. Move the image to the top row. After that repeat this process from other categories.
Step #26: Go back to homescreen.
Step #27: Now you’ve setup titles, so first long-tap any area on homescreen.
Step #28: Select “Widgets”.
Step #29: Choose desktop Visualiser 4×4.
Step #30: Tap OK.
Step #31: Now tap on empty widget. After that select Select icon Then Image file. Select file manager from the list.
Step #32: With file manager, open MetroUI folder from SD card.
Step #33: Open Big or Small folder and select the icon file for app.
Step #34: Now select Select action.
Step #35: Select the app for icon after that select Clear for Label.
Step #36: Resize icon, long-tap on new icon, then select Edit. For Big Tile, you can set the size to 2×2. For Small Tile you can set the size to 1×2.

no it won’t work on stock rom, it just work on some specific custom ROMs that are mentioned in first step….
