Step #1: Download and install Terminal Emulator on your Verizon smartphone.
Step #2: Download ClockworkMod Recovery and save it on your device’s SD card.
Step #3: Launch the Terminal Emulator app on the device.
Step #4: Type su and tap on enter, also confirm the action.
Step #5: Enter following command to install recovery:
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
Step #6: Enter another command to reboot phone into recovery mode.
