Jelly Bean AOKP for HTC One V GSM [How To]
Just a few days ago, we brought Jelly Bean based AOKP ROM for the HTC One V CDMA and now it’s also available for HTC One V GSM version, the AOKP is a well-known custom ROM due to its customizable features that allow you to almost aspect of interface and it gives you a great Android experience. Jelly Bean also introduces number of new features and apps such as the advanced keyboard app, advanced notification bar, Google Now app, advanced camera app and more, thanks to recognize XDA developer member named Lloir.
But the ROM is still being updated and is under development stages, so you might face some bugs and issues with it but is ready for try.
The below guide will walk you through how to install AOKP Jelly Bean ROM on HTC One V (GSM), do keep in mind that the bootloader of your HTC One V must be unlocked and ClockworkMod recovery also should be installed, be sure to follow our this guide to everything you need, you can also check this guide to install latest ClockworkMod recovery version 6.0. You should make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Copy downloaded .zip files to SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn off phone and then reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, first you’ll enter in recovery mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode, once you’re in recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #4: Download fastboot.zip file to your PC, it will be used to install required boot.img.
Step #5: Extract he downloaded fastboot.zip into c:\, there you’ll get fastboot folder, then also unzip the downloaded ROM .zip file, you’ll get a boot.img file, copy this file to the fastboot folder, now it contains five files.
Step #6: Once again, power off phone, now reboot into fastboot mode instead of recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons, when device enter in bootloader mode, there select fastboot mode to enter in fastboot mode.
Step #7: Once the device is in fastboot mode, plug the phone to PC using a USB cable.
Step #8: Run the command prompt on your PC, it can be found prompt Start Menu>Programs>Accessories.
Step #9: Enter following command prompt, it will take you fastboot folder:
Step #10: Enter another following command prompt, it will show the serial number of device, which means, the device is successfully connected to PC in fastboot mode:
Step #11: Now enter following command to install boot.img:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Once the installation is done, you’ll get a message saying finished/OKAY message.
Step #12: Unplug the phone from PC, then on the phone, select HBOOT, in HBOOT, select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.
Step #13: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #14: From the main menu, select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Once this installation is done, also install the Google Apps .zip file in the same manner.
Step #15: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
