The well-known AOKP custom ROM, after the release of Android Jelly Bean source code, is turning from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean, the team behind AOKP ROM has just updated Jelly Bean source to AOKP and one hardworking senior developer over XDA gmillz has successfully ported the Jelly Bean based AOKP custom ROM to Asus Transformer TF300T.

The ROM is in very early stages and not stable for the daily use, you may face many bugs, you can install this custom ROM just to taste AOKP jelly bean.

Read on to install AOKP Jelly Bean on Asus Transformer TF300T. ClockworkMod recovery must be installed on the tablet, you can follow our this guide to install, and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA LINK].

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons until you see a message on the device, then press the volume up button and it will take you to recovery mode.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

That’s it, the AOKP Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in now installed on your device. Do comment below if you faced any issue. When you need to revert back, simply turn the phone off and restore that backup.
