The Samsung Galaxy S is still getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean builds, recently an unofficial AOKP build released for the Galaxy S that based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean that is packed with number of new customizable features and brings a faster performance on your device.
However the ROM is still in development stages, so you can expect some bugs, some things are not working fine yet, but if you really want to taste new AOKP based Jelly Bean, read on how AOKP can be flashed on your Galaxy S.
Keep in mind that this build is just for Galaxy S model number GT-I9000, don’t try it on any model or device, make sure that your Galaxy S is on XXJW4 firmware and rooted with ClockworkMod recovery install, you can check the device detail from Setting>About Phone, you can install the XXJW4 firmware here, after that root and install ClockworkMod recovery on the device here. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps and charge the device battery because the device may get turned off during the process.

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here and Google Apps from here.
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, power and home buttons until screen turns on.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.
Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
