Jelly Bean Based AOKP for Galaxy S2 I9100G

After the CyanogenMod, the AOKP is most popular custom ROM that packed with number of customizable features, the new version of AOKP is based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean that comes with number of new features and apps such as new keyboard, Google Now, new notification bar and much more. The ROM brings a new Android device. After the CyanogenMod 10, the AOKP has also been released for the Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G, thanks to recognized XDA contributor fuss132.

The ROM isn’t fully stable for daily use, so bugs can be expected, the SD card is damaged, it shows up with no reason, it’s work but you can’t mount it.

If you really want to try Jelly Bean, read on how AOKP Jelly Bean can be flashed on your Galaxy S2 I9100G. Keep in mind that your device should be on XXLPQ with ClockworkMod recovery installed, check device detail from Setting>About Phone, you can follow our this guide install XXLPQ and follow this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA LINK] and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded files to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #8: Once again, repeat the last step to install Google Apps package .zip file.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

That’s it, you’re done, do comment below for queries, when you need to go to back, simply turn the phone off, then reboot into recovery mode and restore the backup you’ve taken. You can also visit the original thread of XDA link given in first step.
