Learn How To Root HTC One X


HTC One X has great specs like quad-core processor, 8MP camera and much more. Rooting voids the limitations of manufacturer on Android device, now you can easily root your HTC One X, thanks to XDA developer “paulobrien.” We’ve got easy step by step guide to root your HTC One X.

Before you root your HTC One X, first turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Keep in mind that rooting will void the warranty of your HTC One X, so think carefully before you proceed.

Instructions

Root via InsecureBootandRoot

Step #1: Download InsecureBootandRoot script to computer and unzip into a folder.

Step #2: Turn the phone off and reboot into bootloader mode by pressing both Volume DOWN and the Power key simultaneously, then press power key again to enter in fastboot mode.

Step #3: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug the device to computer using USB cable.

Step #4: Now you need to root the device, windows users, open “install-insecure-windows.bat” by double click on file, it’ll start rooting the device. Linux users open Terminal on folder where you’ve extracted above file and enter following commands:

chmod +x install-insecure-linux.sh
./install-insecure-linux.sh

Mac user open a Terminal on the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and enter following command, it’ll will start rooting the device:

chmod +x install-insecure-mac.sh
./install-insecure-mac.sh

That’s it, your HTC One X will reboot and remaining files will be flashed on device afterwards. Enjoy!

Root via Superboot

This method currently not working on shipping HTC One X.

Step #1: Download Superboot to computer and unzip into a folder.

Step #2: Turn the phone off and reboot into bootloader mode by pressing both Volume DOWN and the Power key simultaneously, then press power key again to enter in fastboot mode.

Step #3: Windows users run ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’ by double click on file and it’ll start rooting the device. Linux users open Terminal windows on the folder where you’ve extracted above file and type to start rooting.

‘chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh

./install-superboot-linux.sh’

Mac users open terminal window on a folder where you’ve v extracted above downloaded file and type

chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh

./install-superboot-mac.sh’

That’s it you’re done. Now you can install custom ROMs, non-market apps, and more. Enjoy!
