Learn How To Root Samsung S 4G


Rooting allows you to customize your Android device, it enables you to install almost everything you want such as custom ROMs, hacks, mods, tweaks, custom recoveries etc. A rooting tool has been made for Samsung Galaxy S 4G, thanks to XDA member lumin30, the tool allows you to backup your EFS, which is very important because it determines your device’s IMEI.

Continue reading to root your Samsung Galaxy S 4G using this tool but first charge the device battery make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Keep in mind that the tool is just for Samsung Galaxy S 4G model number SGH-T959V, don’t try it on other devices, you can check the device detail from Setting>About Phone. Device drivers must be installed on PC to install drivers, to install drivers, download Kies mini to PC, once you’ve downloaded open Kies mini and on phone select Kies firmware and plug to PC, drivers installation will start, you’ll get a notification after installation, then Kies mini will recognize the phone. Hit upgrade and wait, device will eventually reboot.

Instructions

Step #1: First you need to backup of your device efs folder, it contains imported information of device, to follow following steps:

  • Download and install Super Manager.
  • Open Super manager app and navigate to file manger.
  • Select “Back up level folder” twice.
  • Scroll down and search efs folder, once you’ve found long press the folder and select copy.
  • At this point look for sdcard and select, and then select the clipboard (or press menu, then paste) to paste to your sdcard, and lastly copy over to your computer for safe keeping.

Step #2: Download SuperOneClick to PC and unzip into desktop.

Step #3: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.

Step #4: Run SuperOneClick.exe. (Note: You don’t need change any settings).

Step #5: Select Donate Now or select Donate Later, then click on Root and wait until it done.

Step #6: Once you rooting is done, disconnect the device from PC. That’s it.
