Learn How To Root Your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110


Rooting provides great benefits, rooting an Android device allows you to cross the limitations of  manufacturer, after getting root access, you can install custom ROMs, kernel, non-market apps and much more. A new rooting tool has released for new Samsung Tablet “Galaxy Tab 2” 7.0 model number GT-P3110, thanks to RootWiki developer “nycbjr”.

Here’s a guide to root your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0  GT-P3110, but before you start, first keep in mind that rooting will void the warranty of your device, which means you should think carefully before you proceed. To root, first disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download Heimdall to PC.

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded file to a single folder.

Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into download mode by pressing and holding down Volume Down button, when you see Download Mode, don’t turn off just plug the tab to PC using USB cable.

Step #4: Download gt-p3110.pit and boot-bjr.img, after downloading both files, transfer into folder, where you’ve extracted above file in step 2.

Step #5: Open the command prompt, and locate the folder where you’ve extracted file in step 2.

Step #6: Type in command prompt:

adb reboot download

Step #7: Run heimdall-frontend and navigate to “Flash” tab, there load the attached pit file “gt-p3110.pit”.

Step #8: At this point, the partition detail, select “KERNEL”, and click on “Add”

Step #9: Select “Browse” and then attached boot-bjr.img.

Step #10: Click on “Start”.

Step #11: Once the device reboot, on command prompt type following commands:

adb shell

./su

./gtab2-root.sh
