Learn How-To Unbrick the Samsung Galaxy Player 5

Samsung USB Drivers installed on your PC download them HERE

Download the following and save all files into one folder on your computer:

  • Stock ROM for Galaxy Player 5 (YP-G70) — Get it here
  • PIT file — Get it here
  • Odin3 1.83 — Get it here

Instructions

Step 1

First of all you need to Run Odin3 on your PC and then Press the PDA button in the Odin3 window.

Step 2

Now Select the ROM file named “G70-recovery.tar.rar” to load it into Odin3. If you can’t select the said file, try extracting the file using any RAR extraction software such as WinRAR and then load the extracted TAR file into Odin3. And just Press the PIT button in Odin3.

Step 3

After that Select the PIT file named “G70-GalaxyPlayer5.0-8gig-Inter_model_2.3.5.pit” in order to load it into Odin3.

Step 4

Under “Option” in Odin3, check the following options (leave the other options style=”text-decoration: underline;”>notchecked):

  • Repartition
  • Auto Reboot
  • F. Reset Time
  • Phone Bootloader Update

Step 5

Turn off your Galaxy Player 5. Bow press down the Volume Down + Power buttons for couple of seconds until a yellow triangle appear to Reboot the device into download mode.

Step 6

Using a USB cable connect your device to your PC

Step 7

Now you should see the ID:COM box in Odin3 turn yellow and display a COM port number.  This means that Odin3 has successfully communicated with your device.

Step 7

After that Press the Start button in Odin3 to begin the flashing process.  It may take a couple of minutes for the installation to Done.

Step 8

Once it finishes the box above the COM port should turn green with a “Pass” message indicating a successful installation.

Step 9

In the end Reboot your device.

    Hi, Stock ROM for Galaxy Player 5 (YP-G70) file is not found in mediafire.
    Nor , in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457181 link.
    Could you please reupload the file…

    Hello

    Please could you either email me the G70-recovery.tar.rar or add a link please? i bricked my samsung galaxy s 5.0 player and im about to go on holiday in a couple of weeks time and theres an 8 hour wait in the airport which i was hoping to watch video’s on my galaxy s:(
