LG Optimus G LS970 Toolkit for Root, Bootloader Unlock and Custom Recovery
Many people can’t live without customization of their Android devices and this is the reasons Android development forums are flooded with a lot of customization hacks such as XDA like a senior XDA developer member TheShadow1 has done a great job for the Sprint variant of LG Optimus G LG-LS970 that will make the smartphone a fertile for Android development.
He has released an all-in-toolkit for the Sprint Optimus G that lets you to do all initial tasks you need such as unlocking of bootloader, rooting and installation of custom recovery. The toolkit is pretty easy to use and will do everything in a few minutes, however keep in mind that rooting and unlocking bootloader will also void the warranty of your smartphone.
However sadly the toolkit doesn’t compatible with the firmware version ZV9 firmware and cannot root it, however the developer is working the toolkit to bring something more.
As I said the toolkit offers an easy to understand interface, all you need a Windows or Linux based computer with Java software installed and Optimus G LS970. Before do you anything first backup everything as unlocking bootloader will wipe everything such as such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, though the APN setting automatically restored from network, it make mobile date work, but if it doesn’t happen to you, restore it manually, you can use APN app to do so. Turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.
Head over to the original thread of XDA here to download the LG Optimus G all-in-one toolkit, simply install the toolkit and follow onscreen instructions to do anything you want such as installation of drivers, unlocking bootloader, rooting, etc.
