Manually Install Ice Cream Sandwich “XWLP2” Firmware On Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100


A few days ago official Ice Cream Sandwich update released for Samsung Galaxy S2 in Europe but not for Asia and America. Users of Galaxy S2 in Russia have got Ice Cream Sandwich update with XWLP2 that can also be installed via Odin3. XWLP2 firmware can be installed on other countries, but if you’re not Russian users, you should install international European version “XXLPQ”, however you can try XWLP2 for yourself.

See below guide to install it manually, but first keep in mind better of your Samsung Galaxy S2 must be charged and disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure will wipe all data, you can use file expert app to backup. Please use a PC running Windows operating system, and USB drivers must be installed on PC, you can download 32-bit windows drivers from here and 64-bit Windows drivers from here. Please note that this update is just for Samsung Galaxy S2 model no GT-I9100, so check your device model from Setting>About Phone.

Instructions

Step #1: Download XWLP2 firmware and Odin3 to PC and unzipped XWLP2 zip file into a single folder.

Step #2: Turn the Galaxy S2 off and reboot into download mode by pressing and holding down the “Volume Down”, “Home”, and “Power” buttons unless a Warning appear on screen.

Step #3: On pc run Odin3 and plug phone to PC using USB cable.

Step #4: Odin will detect the phone, a message Added will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the phone you may have problem in drivers).

Step #5: On Odin Window, click on  PDA tab and select I9100XWLP2_I9100OXELP4_I9100XXLPQ_HOME.tar.md5 that you’ve extracted in first step.

Step #6: Don’t make any changes in Odin3 setting, click on START button to start installation.

Step #7: Once the installation done, your phone will reboot automatically and a message saying PASS will appear in Odin3’s top-left box. When Samsung logo appear in screen of device, unplugged the phone from PC. That’s it enjoy.
