Manually Install Official ICS “XXLPQ” Firmware on Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G
Almost before one month Samsung released Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware “XXLPQ” for the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100, now also available for another Galaxy S2 variant model number I9100G. The XXLPQ firmware update is available for a few countries of the world, but Samsung will release it for all countries soon in neat future, since SamMobile provide the firmware, if you haven’t received the OTA notification on your device, you can install the firmware manually on your Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G.
The firmware should work on all Galaxy S2 i9100G in all countries, but we can’t give guarantee, you can wait until Samsung release the firmware, however if you can’t wait, you can follow below guide to install it but first keep in mind that USB drivers should be installed on PC, download the from here and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the XXLPQ firmware from here to computer and unzip it into a single folder.
Step #2: Download the Odin 1.85 and unzip into a folder.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into download mode by pressing the Volume Down + Home + Power button simultaneously. Your phone will then show you a warning. Simply skip the warning by pressing the Volume Up button.
Step #5: Now plug the device to your computer using USB cable.
Step #6: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear.
Step #7: Click on PDA Button and locate I9100GXXLPQ_I9100GODDLP7_I9100GDDLP5_HOME.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped the firmware file in first step.
Step #8: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS.
Step #9: If your device stuck at logo, and not boot up, turn the device off and reboot into recovery mode by holding down home, volume up and power buttons until device turn on, there select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. Then select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.” The device will boot with Ice Cream Sandwich.
