Moto G (2014) gets MIUI V5 Titan based on KitKat
The Motorola’s Moto G in 2014 once again turns to a nice design and powerful specs while marketing at an affordable price tag. It is a nice budget phone to experience Android OS. However, it does feel very similar to a Nexus device as it is running on almost stock Android. In order to add some extra features, you need to explore directories of app stores or simply try a best custom ROM to get a lot in very short time. Thanks to XDA, popular MIUI V5 Titan is now available for the Moto G 2014. MIUI is custom OS to redefines the Android on your phone to a different level. This custom firmware is known for verity of customizations and tweaking.
Though, you can load this MIUI version on your Moto G. But keep in mind that it is still in beta stages and might not be prove stable for daily basis. It still includes some non-working features. The developer has mentioned following non-working functions:
RIL (Calls, SMS, Data) It does not work in device dualsim
GPS (device only) requires a signal lock from stock to function correctly.
HDR hangs Camera app (You can use Google Camera to workaround this issue).
We hope the developer will iron out all the issues very soon so that you can enjoy a smooth performance of firmware with all the working functions. As far, consider it just a test drive of popular MIUI custom ROM. If you are itching to experience the MIUI V5 on your Moto G, it is pretty easy. You need a Moto G phone with an unlocked bootloader. Make sure you have already installed a custom recovery on your phone such as CWM or TWRP. Then download and place the latest build and gapps, boot phone in recovery mode, install zip files and reboot. For more info and downloads, you should visit the thread of XDA.
