Now you Are Able to Unlock the Galaxy Nexus Bootloader [How-To]
Everybody knows that Samsung’s Galaxy nexus is marvellous device which has lots of wonderful features that’s why all and sundry likes this device. But today I am going to present you a tutorial that how you are able to unlock this device. But before I get started I’d like to give the credit for this effort to androidcentral, so below you can see the easy to understand steps.
DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.
Step 1
First of all you need to download and install the Android SDK. Then make sure that if you’re using Windows or Mac, you’ll need the Fastboot tool.
If you’re using Linux, you can make your own Fastboot tool. Stick it in your sdk tools or platform-tools folder.
Step 2
Reboot the Galaxy Nexus into the bootloader/fastboot mode. The easiest way to do that is to turn the phone off.
Step 3
Then hold the volume-up and volume-down buttons, and then press the power button.
Step 4
You’ll now see a cool looking Android roboto with his front panel open.
Step 5
Then you need to check to see that the text below it starts with “FASTBOOT MODE” in red. Now plug the Galaxy Nexus into your computer with the micro USB cable. Let any drivers install.
Step 6
Now open a command line and just type fastboot oem unlock. This will start the process and give you the screen you see above. Choose yes using the volume button and then press the power button.
That’s it your bootloader is now unlocked.
