Official ICS firmware XXLQ2 for UK and Ireland Galaxy Note
Are you live in UK or Ireland and own a Galaxy Note? Well! We’ve got good news for you, Samsung has rolled out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for your device through OTA that comes with useful apps that are especially designed for your Galaxy Note, and the update also comes with numerous bug fixes.
Now to install the update first connect the device with a Wi-Fi connection then on your device, from menu tap on Setting, then tap on About Phone and then check firmware/software updates. There tap on check now, you’ll get OTA update, simply tap on it to install it.
Yes, of course, you can install the firmware on any Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 manually, please note that the official ICS firmware has a bug that brick the device when you use recovery mode, so don’t use the recovery mode. Before installation first charge the device battery, make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. USB drivers should be installed on PC, you can download the drivers for 32-bit (x86) Windows here and 64-bit (x64) Windows drivers from here.

Step #1: Download the XXLQ2 and Odin 1.85 to computer and unzip the files into a folder.
Step #2: Double click on Odin 1.85.exe to run the file.
Step #3: Click on PDA button and select the N7000XXLQ2_N7000XXLPT_N7000XEULP4_HOME.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve extracted the firmware in first step.
Step #4: Turn the device off and reboot the device into download mode by holding down Volume Down and Home and Power buttons till a warring screen appear on device, then press the Volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #5: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear.
Step #6: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation is done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS in Odin.
