Restore Crashed Apps on HTC One X+ After Unlocking the Bootloader [How-To]


HTC One X+ is another lucky device that comes with official unlock bootloader support, In recent times we posted a guide to unlock HTC One X+ bootloader, but some users has reported that after unlocking the bootloader, there are some missing apps such as 7digital, Calculator, Dropbox, Flashlight, Soundhound and Teeter. Of course, some of them you can from the Google Play Store but those of you who love default apps, can now recover them easily, thanks to recognized XDA contributor shubhamchamaria. The contributor has release an apps package that contains missing apps.

There are two methods to restore the mission apps, you can install the apps package with a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod recovery and TWRP recovery. Another method involves automated tool that restore apps using your computer, automated tool requires needs USB drivers to be installed on your computer, you can use HTC sync to install them.

Method 1: Restore Apps With Custom Recovery

Step #1: Download the Apps Package and transfer it to your HTC One X+.

Step #2: Turn your phone and reboot into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.

Step #3: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded Missing_Apps_Recovery.zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #4: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the phone.

Method 2: Restore Apps With Automated Tool

Step #1: Download Automated Tool Package and unzip it into a folder.

Step #2: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped the downloaded package.

Step #3: On your HTC One X+ turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Step #4: Plug your HTC One X to PC using USB cable, the computer may ask for driver installation, let the installation complete.

Step #5: From the folder where you unzipped the package, run Missing_Apps file to start the restoring procedure.

That’s it, you’re done.
