Root and Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Galaxy Note Running XXLPY Android 4.0.3 ICS Firmware
Recently Samsung released Ice Cream Sandwich XXLPY firmware for your Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, now those of you who have upgrade their Galaxy Note with XXLPY and want to root the device say thanks to XDA developer “Chainfire” who have released CF-Tool to root your Galaxy Note on XXLPY firmware and install ClockworkMod recovery too.
See below guide to learn how to root and install ClockworkMod recovery on international Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 bit first note that device battery should be charged. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. The device drivers must be installed on computer you can download 32 bit (x86) Windows from here and 64-bit (x64) Windows from here.

Instructions
Step #1: Download CF-Root tool and Odin 1.85 to computer and unzip it into a single folder.
Step #2: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin.
Step #3: Click on PDA Button and locate CF-Root-SGN_XX_OXA_LPY-v5.3-CWM5.tar the folder that you got in step 1. (Note: Don’t make any changes in Odin).
Step #4: Turn the device off, wait until the device completely off.
Step #5: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down Volume Down and Home and Power buttons till a warring screen appear on device, and press the Volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #6: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear.
Step #7: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS in Odin.
Step #8: That’s it, Once the Samsung logo appear on device, disconnect the device from PC and enjoy! You can check ClockworkMod recovery app from app drawer.
