How To Root Samsung Galaxy A5 [Supported Variants]
Rectangle-design with metal, the Samsung Galaxy A5 looks awesome. Samsung is trying to approach the middle market with beautiful appearance and TouchWiz interface. Further, Chainfire has successfully rooted the phone so that you can enjoy all the unofficial compatible tweaking and applications.
This guide shows you how to root Samsung Galaxy A5 using Chainfire’s CF-Auto-Root package.
Make sure you’re using a Windows PC with USB phone drivers installed, you may use Samsung KIES to install drivers but during installation it must be disabled, before you start rooting, first disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, its because they can disturb the rooting process.

How To Root Samsung Galaxy A5
Step #1: Download the Galaxy A5 CF-Auto-root tool from following links (download, according to your phone’s model number):
Your model is not added? Go here.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded .zip file into a folder. Found a recovery.img and cache.img file? You’ve extracted twice. You need just a .tar.md5file – don’t extract that one
Step #3: Download the Odin3 file and unzip it into a folder too.
Step #4: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into download mode, to do so reboot your A5 by holding down the volume down, home and power buttons until the screen turns on, then press the volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #7: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will change the color and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that the USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #8: Click on PDA/PA Button and locate CF-Auto-Root-.tar.md5 file from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #9: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself into recovery mode and you’ll see a message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out the battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
Step #10: If your device reboot doesn’t reboot into recovery mode, turn off the phone again, then reboot into download mode, install the rooting file again, but this time uncheck the “Auto Reboot” in Odin, once the installation is done and Odin has shown the PASS message, remove battery from the device for a few second, then put the battery back to phone, then reboot the phone into recovery mode manually by holding down volume up, home and power buttons. In recovery mode, the CF-Root-Tool will root the phone automatically and once the rooting is done, it will reboot your phone itself.
Note: CF-Auto-Root tool increase flash counter of your A5, you can use Triangle Away app to reset the flash counter.
