How To Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro Series [8.4/10.1/12.2]


The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro series seems to be very premium with very high-resolution displays and powerful specs. The complete series even landed in market with latest Android 4.4 KitKat version. And if you are rooted user, you can enjoy a lot more than just stock.

Rooting your Galaxy Tab Pro can be jailbreak-like treatment in your life. It removes the limitations that Samsung put on operating system and give you administrative rights. You will be able to load unofficial tweaks, unapproved Google apps, update the device to latest Android version with unofficial resources, overlock the processor and lot more. It is about the customization of your Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro with easy resources.

Warning: It is very important to note that rooting may void the warranty of your Galaxy Tab Pro, so think twice before you start.

Thanks to popular XDA developer Chainfire, now you can easily root your Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro with Chainfire’s CF-Auto Root tool. It is pretty easy to use, this Galaxy Tab Pro will load a custom recovery first, then root the device and then restore the stock recovery back.

How To Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro

Requirements:
Use a Windows PC and make sure device drivers are installed on computer.
Disable KIES and firewall & antivirus apps that can disturb Odin.

Step #1: Download CF-Auto Root tool for your tablet depending on variant, you can device detail from Setting>About Device/Tablet:

Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 3G/LTE SM-T325 (not available yet)

Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 3G SM-T321 (not available yet)

Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 SM-T520

Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 LTE SM-T525

Root Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900 (not available yet)

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded file into a folder and run Odinxx.exe file.

Step #3: Turn off your tablet and reboot into download mode by pressing and holding down volume down, home and power keys.

Step #4: Click on AP or PDA button in Odin and locate the.tar.md5 file that you got from downloaded root package.

Step #5: Connect device to computer, when “ADDED” message appears in Odin, press “Start” button to start the installation.

It will start installation of a recovery. Once it is installed successfully, your tab will reboot in recovery mode and install SuperSU. If your tablet does not access the recovery mode automatically, turn it off and reboot in recovery mode manually by holding down volume up button along with power button. Once the SuperSU is installed, the package will restore the store recovery and reboot into Android.

That’s it, you are rooted now. You can check whether the tab is rooted successfully or not with root checker application (download from Play Store). This method increases the flash counter that you can reset with Chainfire’s Triangle away to reset the flash counter (Play Store LinkAPK Link).
