Sony Xperia Z1 ROM ported to Nexus 4 – Installation Guide


The flagship Sony Xperia Z1 shines with good features and apps. It is powerful especially by the virtue of camera section which enables you to do more than just photo capturing. Xperia Z1 includes useful camera apps with sharing abilities and different photo & video modes. Thanks to XDA developer member fatihlale, the Sony Xperia Z1 firmware has been ported to LG Nexus 4. This aftermarket custom firmware includes all of Xperia Z1 apps and theme including fonts, bootanimation, Xperia Z1 Launcher, Sony select and Z1 Tasks. Getting beautiful Xperia Z1 experience on Google Nexus 4 can be like a fun in your life.

This guide shows you how to install Xperia Z1 ROM on Nexus 4. Your Nexus 4 should have unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery installed, check our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery or this guide to install TWRP recovery and check this guide to unlock bootloader. All-in-toolkit is also available for the smartphone. Backup everything, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Xperia XL Z1 ROM for Google Nexus 4 from here.

Step #2: Place zip file to your Nexus 4.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons to enter in bootloader mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power button to select. Highlight the recovery option and enter in recovery mode with power button.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again. If you’re on TWRP recovery, select “backup” and confirm the action.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. In the end return to main menu, there select “advance”, then select wipe Dalvik Cache and confirm the action.

Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. If you’re on TWRP recovery, select “install” and locate the ROM zip file.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the smartphone.
