Transformer Prime Gets CyanogenMod 10 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean


CyaongenMod 10 (CM10) port for the ASUS Transformer Prime TF201, now available, the CyanogenMod 10 is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and brings a new pure Android AOSP experience with fast performance and native UI, thanks to XDA developer member rayman.

The ROM can be used for daily drive but do keep in mind that the ROM is still in development stages and has bugs such as GPS and Light sensor issues. Use this build just as Android Jelly Bean preview, read on how to install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean CyanogenMod 10 on the Transformer Prime.

The bootloader of your device must be unlocked and Clockworkmod recovery must be installed on your ASUS tablet, you can follow our this guide to install touch ClockworkMod recovery. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded files to SD card of device.

Step #4: Turn the device off.

Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, when you see words on device, press volume up and it will take you to recovery mode.

Step #7: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #8: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #9: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete. Once the installation is done, flash Google Apps in the same manner.

Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
