Unlock Bootloader, Root and Install ClockworkMod recovery on HTC One V [How-To]
HTC One V is a fantastic samrtphone that comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the smartphone has great specs such as 5 mega-pixel camera with LED flash, 1 GHz processor and more. You can modify your HTC One V and enhance its hardware with different custom ROMs, hacks, and tweaks.
But as most of you know well that first you’ll need to unlock bootloader, root and install ClockworkMod recovery on your HTC One V, here’s guide to unlock bootloader, root and install custom recovery on HTC One V, thanks to XDA developer mmmcfc. First keep on mind that unlocking bootloader and rooting will void the warranty of your HTC One V, so you should think carefully before you proceed.
Before you start first keep in mind that your device battery should be charged. Disable all system tools such as antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Please use a Windows PC and USB drivers of device should be installed on PC.

Unlock Bootloader Of HTC One V
Step #1: Download HTC Sync and install it on your computer.
Step #2: Download Fastboot package to computer and unzip it, you’ll get Fastboot folder.
Step #3: Head over to HTC Developer Center here and make an account.
Step #4: Once you’ve created above account, login with account and head over to HTC Unlcoker Bootloder site, you’ll see Select your device drop menu, select All other Supported Models and click on Being Unlock Bootloader button, a pop-up will appear, select Yes.
Step #5: Accept the terms and click on Proceed to Unlock Instructions and you’ll get instructions on next page to follow.
Step #6: Open second page of HTC Developer, hit Proceed to Step 5. You’ll see some steps, don’t follow them, just open fastboot folder that you extracted in step 2, then at any empty area of folder press Shift and Right Click at the same time and select Open command window, a command prompt will appear, enter fastboot devices command to check the smartphone is connected with computer.
Step #7: On HTC site hit the Proceed to Step 8, on next page follow the given steps and hitSubmit, you’ll receive email with attached unlock file.
Step #8: Download attached file and copy it to fastboot folder and also open link given in email to open next page, there you’ll get more instructions.
Step #9: On command prompt type following command to install downloaded attached file:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
A bootldoader request will appear in smartphone, select yes using Volume Up key and power to confirm. Once the process is done, the device will reboot automatically. That’s it, the factory of device will reset too. When you need to put the device into bootloader mode, turn the device off and reboot by pressing and holding down Volume down and Power button until device boot in bootloder mode.
Install ClockworkMod Recovery On HTC One V
Step 1: Download the Android Standard Developer Kit and unzip into C:/.
Step #2: Download the latest version of ClockworkMod recovery from here and rename the downloaded file to recovery.img and place it in AndroidSDK/platform-tools that unzipped in previous step.
Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into download mode by pressing and holding down Volume down and Power button until device boot in bootloder mode, in bootloader mode select fastboot mode, use volume key to select and power key to navigate.
Step #4: Once you’re in fastboot mode plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #5: Open command prompt on PC and type following commands:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once the recovery is installed, you’ll get message saying finished.
Step #6: Reboot the device by entering follwing command:
That’s it, you’ve installed ClockworkMod recovery on your HTC One V.
Root HTC One V
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded superboot package (r1-primo-superboot.zip) into a folder, you’ll get “r1-primo-superboot” folder.
Step #3: Copy the downloaded boot.superboot.img to “r1-primo-superboot” folder that got in pervious step, it will replace existing file.
Step #4: Turn the phone off.
Step #5: Reboot the device into download mode by pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Power until you enter in bootloader mode, then highlight Fastboot by using the volume keys then select it using the Power button to enter fastboot mode.
Step #6: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug the device to PC suing USB cable.
Step #7: Open r1-primo-superboot folder and run install-superboot-windows.bat file to begin rooting. Once it done, the device reboot itself.
That’s it, you’re done, In the app drawer you will see a SuperSU icon, click on it and update SU binary, when you’ll launch root enabled app, you’ll asked to select Allow, just allow to get root access. Enjoy! You can show your thought about this method in below comments.
