How To Unlock Moto E 2015 Bootloader [Guide]
For some hacking experience over a Motorola’s Moto phone, unlocking the bootloader can be your first step. This enables you to feel something new with the use of custom ROMs and other modification of operating system. It sounds scary for a newbie as it voids the warranty of phone. The term bootloader is reportedly a piece of code that your phone executes before the OS. In fact it leads the phone to load operating system. Thanks to Motorola, you can unlock Moto E 2015 bootloader (it is developer-friendly offer).
This guide shows you how to unlock bootloader of Moto E 2015. Do note that it’s really important to backup everything you care about because unlocking bootloader will wipe your phone data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data.
You need following things before you start:
Motorola Moto E 2015
Make sure you are on a Windows computer and Android SDK or minimal Android ADB and Fastboot drivers are installed on your computer.
USB drivers installed on PC
USB debugging enabled on device

How To Unlock Moto E 2015 Bootloader
Step #1: Turn off your Moto E and boot in fastboot mode. To do this, boot phone by holding down the power and volume down buttons, keep an eye on screen for more instructions.
Step #2: Plug your phone to computer using a USB cable.
Step #3: Open command prompt and navigate to the folder where you the fastboot package, if you are on Windows 7 or above, you can open the command directly from the folder, to do so open the folder, there press right click while holding down shift button on keyboard and then select “open command window here”.
Step #4: Type following command on CMD and press enter (it should bring you a string of numbers, note down the line and save into a safe place. In order to copy, Right Click-Mark- Mark the text by pressing the shift key-Now press Ctrl+C. Then open a notepad and paste the same, but remove empty spaces):
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
Step #5: Now visit Motorola’s website and sign in with an account, then scroll down the page and paste the copied string in the field. After that, hit ‘Can my device be unlocked?’, after which a “REQUEST UNLOCK KEY” button will appear at the bottom of page. Agree with that option and Motorola will send you unlock key on email address you have provided to company.
Step #6: Check the email and copy the 20-character key.
Step #7: In CMD, issue the following command to make sure whether your phone is connected to computer properly or now (it should show you status with your phone’s data):
Step #8: After ensuring, type following command and press enter:
fastboot oem unlock UNIQUE_KEY
Note: In this command replace the word ‘UNIQUE_KEY’ with the unlock code that you got via email.
Step #9: That’s it, bootloader is unlocked. Unplug the phone now.
