Update Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 With MIUI 4 [How-To]


Familiar MIUI custom ROM has been arrived for your newly purchased Samsung Galaxy S3 that will give you a beautiful interface, MIUI offers you number of customizable features, it has stunning themes that will give your device an eye-catching look and feel, it based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

However it’s beta version of MIUI ROM which means it may has bugs currently, however MIUI team will release the next version soon in near future so if you want to taste the MIUI, read on how to install MIUI ROM on Samsung Galaxy S3.

Keep in mind that your ClockworkMod recovery must be installed on your Samsung Galaxy S3, use this guide to install ClockworkMod, device battery should be charged, make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of MIUI from here [XDA LINK] and copy the zip file to internal SD card.

Step #2: Turn the device off and reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons until the screen turn on (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #3: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #4: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #5: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #6: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

That’s it, you’re done, enjoy MIUI on your Samsung Galaxy S3, if want to go back to original firmware, just turn off the phone and put it on recovery mode, there select “Backup and Restore”, and then select restore and it will take you back to original firmware, you can also visit the original thread of XDA link given first for more information, comment below for queries.
