Upgrade Motorola Defy/Defy Plus to Android 4.1.2 via CyanogenMod 10 ROM
CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) has finally been arrived for the Motorola Defy and Motorola Defy Plus, it based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, it’s AOSP build which means it will give you stock Android experience along with Jelly Bean features like Google Now search, advanced keyboard app, advanced notification bar, improved camera app and more, thanks to recognized XDA developer member Quarx.
However the CyanogenMod 10 ROM for Motorola Defy and Motorola Defy plus is still under development, so you might face some bugs, but it’s ready to try.
Read on how to install CyanogenMod 10 on Motorola Defy and Motorola Defy Plus. Make sure the ClockworkMod recovery is installed on your phone and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the CyanogenMod 10 and Google Apps package from here [XDA Link].
Step #2: Transfer both .zip files to the SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.
Step #9: Once the ROM .zip file is installed, install the Google Apps package .zip file in the same manner.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

path mean?….however if you’re talking about location, simply place both files to root of your internal SD card (internal storage), root mean directly to phone, not in any folder as there both files can easily be located…..
