Upgrade Samsung Epic 4G Touch to AOSP Jelly Bean
Almost every Android device, old and new, is getting unofficial Jelly Bean builds, an unofficial AOSP Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean build is now available for the Samsung Epic 4G touch, thanks to recognized XDA developer member Sbrissen. The developer made this AOSP build with the help of an AOSP Ice Cream Sandwich build. Good news is that, the ROM is very stable, I’m surprised, the ROM has useful features, it features a power menu with extra options, improved device setting, CyanogenMod camera app, Google Nexus boot animation, theme manage, and more, you can add any CyanogenMod 10 and Jelly Bean theme, the ROM provides you a new experience, and have worth, be sure to try this Jelly Bean, however, the ROM is under development currently, the ROM still has some bugs, the ROM has following bugs:
LOS (this is kernel related and I am still trying to track it down)
Random screen wakes
Camcorder effects cause FC
Read on how to install Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on Samsung Epic 4G Touch, do keep in mind that your smartphone must be rooted and ClockworkMod recovery also should be installed on the phone, you can follow our this guide to root and install CWM recovery. You need to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA LINK].
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded .zip file to the internal SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.
Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
