Upgrade Samsung Galaxy S Gt-i9000 With Android 4.0.4 ICS Via Dark Knight ROM


Just after Samsung Captivate Dark Night ROM is available for  Samsung Galaxy S Gt-i9000 and based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, if you really want to taste Android 4.0.4 ICS on your Galaxy S, don’t worry about official update, you can install this Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich custom ROM on your device. It has so many features and brings improvements. Bear in mind that it’s just for Galaxy S model number GT-i9000 so don’t try it on I9000B or any other variant.

If you’re interested follow below guide to install it, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure will wipe all data, you can use this app to backup and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Then, make sure that USB debugging is checked. If you’re on custom ROM make sure that Voodoo Lagfix or any other Lagfix is disabled in your mobile, it can be done from the recovery mode and in recovery mode clear the Dalvik Cache before updating or it may hamper the process update process.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the ROM from here to PC.

Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.

Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.

Step #5: Turn the device off.

Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button and then Power Button all together.

Step #7: In the recovery mode menu you need to select the option “install zip from SD card” and then “choose zip from sd card” and then navigate to the ICS Dark Night custom ROM package which is located in your phone sd card.

Step #8: Once the installation is done, recovery screen will come and select  “++++ Go Back ++++” and then “reboot system now” to reboot the system. That’s it enjoy!
