Upgrade Samsung Vibrant to Jelly Bean via Slim Bean ROM
Android community hasn’t forgotten the Samsung Vibrant, Android community is still working to Samsung Vibrant like recently a recognized contributor over XDA has presented the Slim Bean custom ROM for the Samsung Vibrant, as Slim Bean ROM’s name tells itself that the Slim Bean is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Slim Bean ROMs always come with trimmed size such as 80MB and 90MB, the ROM gives fully stock Android experience, and the Slim Bean is packed with customizable features of CyanogenMod 10 and AOKP. It’s pre-rooted custom ROM, and features a stunning interface. The ROM is still under development, some features are missing currently, it may has some bugs, however the developer will iron out them soon in near future.
Take a look at below guide to install Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Slim Bean custom ROM on your Samsung Vibrant. ClockworkMod recovery must be installed on your Vibrant, you have to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. If you have set a lock on SIM card, remove it, you can remove it from Setting>Location and Security>SIM card lock, there make sure that the box isn’t checked.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the Slim Bean custom ROM and Common_2.x.x.
Step #2: Place the downloaded .zip files to SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot phone into recovery mode by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM file (T959.zip) that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation (Note: The phone may reboot during the installation, after rebooting, the installation will start again itself, if the phone doesn’t continue the installation, repeat this step again).
Step #8: Repeat the last step to install command .zip file that you downloaded in first step.
Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
