Use Cornerstone ROM to Upgrade Asus Transformer to ICS


There are many tablets but Asus Transformer is also a well-known tablet, if you are using this tablet and want to upgrade it with ICS (ice cream sandwich) you are on a right below you can see a guide Upgrade Asus Transformer to ICS via Cornerstone ROM. Before you get started make sure that you have manage your back-up because below steps can damage your valued data. You’ll need a fully charged battery or at least 70% battery left.

For this purpose you need a need a Rooted with ClockworkMod Recovery installed device.

Instructions

Step 1

First of you need to download the latest version of the CM9 with Cornerstone ROM from here and save it to your PC and then GApps from here (in this package you’ll see necessary Google applications like Market, Gmail, GTalk, etc.)

Step 2

Using a USB Cable connect your ASUS Transformer to your PC  and copy the ZIP files into the root of the SD card and Turn Off.

Step 3

Now hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons to Reboot  into ClockworkMod Recovery.

Step 4

When prompted, press the Volume Up button and In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of existing ROM, if anything should not work out something expected on this ROM, it will helps you to easily revert back to your current state, to create select “Backup and Restore”, and on the screen that follows select “Backup” again.

Step 5

Clean your device by performing the following:

  • Select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” then confirm on the screen that follows.
  • From the main menu, select “Advanced”, then select “Wipe Dalvik Cache” then confirm on the screen that follows.

Step 6

Select “install zip from sdcard”, then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Browse for the downloaded CM9 with Cornerstone ZIP file that you have copied to the tablet and select it to begin installation.

Step 7

Confirm the installation. It may take up to 5 to 10 minutes for Done.

Step 8

After this install the GApps package in the same manner as the ROM package.

Step 9

Go back to the main menu and choose “reboot system now” for reboot.
