Utilize NFC on Galaxy S3 While the Screen is Off/Locked

Now a while ago, we saw a mod that enables the Galaxy Nexus users to use the NFC on their Samrtphone while the device is off or locked. Now a XDA developer member mayhemer has brought this mod for the flagship device of Korean company the Samsung Galaxy S3, as you all know well that the NFC of Samsung Galaxy S3 stock ROM NFC doesn’t work when the device’s screen is locked or off  but with this mod, you’ll be able to use NFC on Galaxy S3 any time.

Currently two versions of MOD are available, first is lockscreen version that lets you to use the NFC when the screen is on but locked, no matter the device is locked with PIN or password, it will work and on the other hand second version is screeoff that allows you to make use of NFC anytime, you can use NFC even the device is in standby, the screen is off and it’s locked.

Once you installed MOD on the Galaxy S3 but want go back to real state, a stock.zip file is also available for you that will take back you to original state. Here’s a guide to install the MOD, but before installation first make sure that ClockworkMod recovery is installed on device, follow our guide to install and make a backup of your device data for safety such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Mod file you want:

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into recovery mode, hold down Volume UP, Home and Power buttons until device turn on.

Step #4: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important if anything goes wrong, you’ll have option to revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #5: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #6: Go to Advanced and select Wipe Dalvik Cache option.

Step #7: Select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

    Didn’t work. :(

    More over, it erased the NFC option in Settings menu. Now I can’t even turn on NFC.
    Saw I’m not the only one having this problem but could find any solution. I’ve also flashed the stock version but didn’t solve it.

    Anybody knows a solution?

      install any stock official OTA firmware first and then try again….
