800 million Android smartphones vs. 300 million Apple iPhones: future report
Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, or Windows: Which one you prefer? I’m pointing Android because of open source interface, ABI study says that by the end of this year, there will be 1.4 billion smartphones in uses and mostly will use Android. The report shows that 798 million smartphones will run the Android operating system while 294 million would be iPhones that, of course, run Apple iOS operating system, we can’t ignore Windows Phones and BlackBerry 10 as they’re on many stylish smartphones such as HTC 8X and BlackBerry Z10, the survey suggests 45 million Windows Phone and 20 million BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
ABI Research factors in an annual smartphone growth rate of 44 percent for 2013, it’s lower than 2012’s 45 percent. The global smartphone market offer 51 percent shares for Android, 21 percent shares for iOS and 3 percent shares for Windows Phone. It sounds bit for Android as you can see but it’s actually significantly down from its third-quarter 2012 performance that is 70 percent Apple was also offering 50 percent shares to market for both new and old iPhone users.
