Amazing Android 4.2 security features revealed – you’ll be more secure
There are numerous reports suggesting us that Google is to release the Android 4.2 soon in near future might on October 29th at Android event where the LG Nexus 4 (rumored as LG Optimus G Nexus) is also expected to be released, that’s the reason people is tracing out the Android 4.2 like some of them leaked the Gmail app from Android 4.2 and now here’s another set of Android 4.2 features.
Android Police has leaked these Android 4.2 features from the LG Nexus 4, all features are to secure your Android device, it seems that Google is trying to make Android more and more secure, however it hasn’t been confirmed that all of them can be found at final Android 4.2 version or in earlier one, leaked features are SELinux (Security-Enhanced Linux), VPN Lockdown and Premium SMS Confirmation.
The SELinux lets you to prevent malware apps from taking control over your Android device. It’s a set of kernel add-ons and user-space tools, it get access to Linux that means the program and server will run with a just a few privileges they need to us, on the other hand the unmodified Linux can access to discretionary control, you can allow files you own accidently and they’ll take control over your gadget, if you access them with root, it’ll have access to everything but in SELinux there’s no concept of a root, the security is defined by Admin and will be applied on everything. However it’s optional and can be applied on enterprise devices only, the publication warns readers that Android 4.2 will not remove the root functionality with this new SELinux feature.
VPN lockdown is a new feature that lets you to only connect to internet when a VPN connection is secure, if it’s no available, you’ll not be able to open web. The last one, Premium SMS Confirmation is a new security feature that prevents you from being silently charged for premium SMS services that could originate from malware apps that can steal your money. you’ll be able to send SMS to any known and known numbers, if you’ll found any malware, you’ll have option to stop it.
