Android Devices Will Have New ‘g+o’ Gestures
Google’s Android devices will have “g+o”, the patent filed in Q3 2011, which US Patent & Trademark Office published last month, Google add a new search gesture for future Android device that incorporates various forms of the letter “g”. Really useful new feature which lets you to circle what you want to find for within the letter “g” or “g + o” and with this feature you can search when you lifting finger. It will also let you to access alternative by drawing “S”.
If you see at patent application, it shows different embodiments of the concept incorporating of the different letters combine with a continuous circling motion. The feature show first show the list of context- sensitive options like phone numbers or dictionary entries:
If you follow Google’s logic, then it could very translate into allowing users or companies to create their own letter combinations to signify a specific search engine related to their industry or profession. Meaning instead of drawing in “G + O” to use Google’s search engine, a lawyer could draw in the letter combination such as “L + O” and have that combination translate into a search in LexisNexis. That could open up some interesting possibilities going forward.
