Microsoft has just replaced their popular SkyDrive cloud storage space with OneDrive. In fact, it is just the change of name and not anything else. However OneDrive brought interesting stuff with new name. Angus Logan (head of product management and marketing for Microsoft OneDrive) has explained this service that it is a home of your photos, videos, documents and files for all of your devices. He confirmed that you do not need to uninstall the SkyDrive app on your phone, the automatic update can silently turn your SkyDrive into OneDrive but if it does not happen with you, manual update notification should be appear on the display.
Using MPEG real-time transcoding, OneDrive plays and share videos as easily as photos, this update also brought camera roll backup on Android devices and Office Web apps can enjoy real time co-authoring. If you use the camera backup on your Android phone, you will be rewarded with 3GB of free storage space. If you refer any friend, you will have 5GB free space and each of them will get 500MB space.
If you want 100GB of free space, follow OnDrive on Twitter as Microsoft is giving it to 100000 people with the launch of OneDrive.
