Samsung has just launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and mostly people has started comparing the Galaxy Note 2 against the other high-end smartphones and for our readers, here at Android Egis, we’re sharing a comparison between Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3.
Both are top-end devices, the Samsung Galaxy S3 received lots of positive reviews, that’s the reason, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has become a kickass smartphone, the phone easily slays the competition as Samsung made a mega sale with the Samsung Galaxy S3. I divide the Galaxy Note 2 vs Galaxy S3 detail into segments, it’s just for closer detail.
Display and Design
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 dimensions is intimidating, 80 x 151.1 x 9.4 mm, on the other hand, the Galaxy S3 is bit more easier on the hand featuring 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, the weight also make the same difference, Galaxy Note 2’s weight is 180 grams and Galaxy S3 comes with 133 grams weight, mostly people love to adapt new environments.
The display is same, both gadgets features super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, but when you take a look at resolution, the Galaxy Note features 1280 x 800 and Galaxy S3 features 1280 x 720, it’s very minor difference, overall Galaxy S3 is winner here due to design because it’s more easy to use than bigger new Note.
This is the main round for those of you who’re going to buy one of them, Samsung packed the Samsung Galaxy S3 with Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 Exynos 4412 Quad cheap and packed the Samsung Galaxy Note with Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 Exynos 4412 Quad processor, which means, the Galaxy Note 2 is faster than the Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S3 includes 1GB of RAM and Galaxy Note 2 has 2GB of RAM, here thing also gets awkward, Samsung made a new bar of high performance with its new creation Galaxy Note 2.
Both gadgets comes with same internal storage space along with microSD card slot and they also use the same superior camera sensor that is best to take the photo, both devices are helpful for a photographer. The Galaxy Note 2 comes with a bigger battery life, it has Standard battery, Li-Ion 3100 mAh but the Samsung’s flagship smartphone of 2012 features Standard battery, Li-Ion 2100 mAh.
- Processor: Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 Exynos 4412 Quad (Galaxy Note 2) – Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 Exynos 4412 Quad (Galaxy S3)

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is winner in this round, the Galaxy Note 2 has beaten the Galaxy S3 with battery, front camera, processor, and RAM. The Galaxy Note 2 is powerful device than the Galaxy S3. However the Samsung Galaxy is NFC enabled smartphone but the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has no NFC feature but just one thing can’t beat seven things, that’s why, I selected the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as a winner in this round up.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich but just after the release of Samsung Galaxy S3, Google released the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the bad news for the Galaxy S3 is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with latest Google’s mobile operating system, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean instead of Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, before the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 2, rumors told us that Samsung would roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 at IFA but Samsung hasn’t released the update yet and said that Galaxy S3 will get the Android’s latest iteration update soon in near future.
Both devices use the same market for new apps. With the release of Galaxy Note 2, the Samsung improved the integration of S-Pen and adds many new tweaks for the S-Pen to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, you can hover over a folder with the S-Pen to see addition information without opening the screen. But there’s no S-Pen in Galaxy S3, the Galaxy S3 has S-voice app that is voice assistant for you and Galaxy Note 2 has no S Voice app.
Once again the Samsung Galaxy Note is winner because it comes with the goodness of Jelly Bean and the Galaxy S3 isn’t winner due to the lack of S-Pen and Jelly Bean OS.
This fight isn’t fair really, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with more powerful specs and features than the Samsung Galaxy S3 such as the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 Exynos 4412 Quad processors, 2GB of RAM and improved S-Pen on the other hand the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a flagship smartphone of 2012, the Galaxy Note 2 is ahead of Galaxy S3 in many aspects.
If you love to have a bigger screen smartphone, you should buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, however the Galaxy S3 is also a best smartphone. So guys what do you think, which one is better? Do let us know about your thoughts in the comment section below.
