Ubuntu Touch developer preview gets official for Android
Ubuntu touch is finally official, Canonical has released the Ubuntu touch developer preview for a few Android devices, of course it’s not final version but worry not as it’s enough to experience Ubuntu right on your Android device.
There’s a lot that has not been finished but the Linux operating system for mobile devices is still pretty interesting to try. Your content is populated with thumbnails at this time, the developer preview lacks a lot of handy apps that you use almost everytime such as the music player, IM client and email client. However phone app, SMS app, a browser to explore websites, camera apps, media apps, etc are available to use at this time.
However it seems that Canonical is going to show something very interesting for Ubuntu, might be they’re trying to cover limitations, hopefully Canonical will show off new devices running Ubuntu at the end of this year, at this time as I said above that the Ubuntu OS is available for just a few Android devices (nexus devices) but the interested community can port it to other devices in near future.
There are so many program that you can install, the most important thing to note is that apps would be universal, you’ll able to use one binary on your phone, tablet, TV and even on desktop too. The policy is a bit similar to Android.
