AT&T One X Jelly Bean rolls out at long last

The long-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is finally official for the AT&T HTC One X, the AT&T One X Jelly Bean update is being rolled out through OTA (over the air), it’s 630 MB in size. The update doesn’t bump a lot of new features and bug fixes, however changelog seems enough to make you happy.

The Jelly bean for AT&T One X includes Google Now that lets you search with your voice over Google, the notification bar now offers a few more features like now you can expand or collapse any notification. AT&T One X/XL Gets CyanogenMod 10 based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Just after the HTC One S, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean custom ROM, CyanogenMod 10 (CM10), has been released for the AT&T HTC One X unofficially, it’s AOSP custom ROM, thanks to XDA developer member h8rift. HTC One X, One XL, One X Will Get Jelly Bean Soon [Confirmed]

Mostly Android devices are waiting for latest Google mobile operating system update, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, especially flagship smartphones of 2012. The Jelly Bean is currently available for just Nexus devices, all major smartphone manufacture are trying to get Jelly Bean update like recently we posted that Samsung is testing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S2, the update may release soon in August or September, Samsung hasn’t mention the release date and  HTC also has been confirmed to release Jelly Bean update for HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S.

HTC just said in a official statement that At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. There is another resource too, Engadget, that  posted that HTC will not only upgrade the international variant of HTC One X, One XL and One S but also upgrade all other variants such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Rogers Canada.

A new and more stable version of AOKP has been released for HTC One X “Milestone 6”, however it’s unofficial port of Milestone 6 released by XDA developer member karoodee, it comes with very useful features and customization options.

You can use this toolkit to unlock bootloader and install ClockworkMod recovery too. Fastboot and ADB have become powerful tools that let you to install, add and pull anything from your Android device but device must be rooted, you can also get detail about device and when you combine them you’ll get a useful as XDA developer member TeAm HeX did, he developed a Automated Fastboot Commands tool that works on international variant of HTC One X, this tool lets you to install things and get detail with Fastboot commands.

The tool is packed with many useful features like you can install ClockworkMod Recovery, boot ClockworkMod recovery, install TWRP 2.1.2 and 2.1.6 recovery, HTC Stock Recovery 1.28 and 1.29 recovery, Interim Recovery, Doom Recovery and Boot.Img. You can also clear cache and once you’ve unlocked the bootloader of device but want to visit the manufacturer shop for warranty you can relock Bootloader again.

You can also obtain the CID and MID. The tool lets you to put the device in every mode such as normal and Bootloader mode. It’s pretty easy to use tool and fast too. Do keep in mind that you have to use the tool at your own risk but since these are basic Fastboot commands, the risk is low.

The tool is available in two languages as usual the first is English and another is French, installation on Android devices is bit tricky and sometime the installation damage the device too, one thing I hate the most is that installation also waste your time, so why should I or you waste our time, this tool is something that can save our valuable time and make our life bit easier.

When HTC will release the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the HTC One X? Here’s guide to install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on HTC One X but first do keep in mind that this is SDK port which means it’s just a preview and unstable for daily use, you can install to just taste Jelly Bean. Some features aren’t working currently such as Wi-Fi, camera and audio.

Root AT&T HTC One X/HTC One XL on Firmware version 1.85

A few days ago an update version 1.85 released for the AT&T HTC One X and HTC One XL that comes with numerous good things and more but it voids the root access on the device, but now you need to worry about it, a one-click root is available to root the smartphone on 1.85, thanks to XDA developer member designgears who found this method. It may not work when AT&T detects it so do quickly, it’s a best root for you.

Do bear in mind that the method will work on AT&T HTC One X and HTC One XL running software version 1.85, so don’t try it on any other device. You’ll need a Windows PC with  device drivers installed, download drivers from here and disable all system tools such as HTC Sync, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, set the device as “Charge Only” when you plug the phone to PC, turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development, then disable the fastboot from  Settings > Power menu.
