How To Pair Xbox 360 Controller with Nexus 7

In recent times we posted a story to play any PC game on Android, but Google Play is also flooded with numerous amazing games to create fun for Android, normally people use PlayStation 3 or Wii controller with the Android devices, but now a senior XDA developer member sleeplessninja has found a way to pair the Xbox 360 controller with Android, however currently the method can be applied on just Nexus 7. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with the Wii and PlayStation 3 controller but it’s for those who own an Xbox 360 or prefer Xbox 360.

Normally people use a wired controller and a USB OTG cable for the Xbox controller, there’s already a method that allow you to play games on Nexus 7 with a Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Dongle but so many games can’t be played with that and the developer has just fixed that way, developer’s words:

So when i searched through the /system/usr/keylayout/ I saw there was a profile for the xbox 360 wired controller so I thought why not copy the profile and name it a wireless xbox controller. This idea worked. You name keylayouts by Vendor ID and Product ID which I also was able to get from the logcat. What is nice about this is I think we can use this to solve issues with other controllers as well, but I don’t know of any that are also having problems.

Which means, you need to modify a few things, after that you’ll be able to pair your Xbox 360 controller, it’s important to note that your Nexus 7 must be rooted, so check out our this guide or this guide if your device’s not rooted yet.
